ISLSyMC
SUPERIOR INSTITUTE OF SIGN LANGUAGE AND COMMUNICATIVE MEDIATION
The ISLSYMC understands Sign Language as a language that, due to its peculiarities, has enormous potential for communication and personal development in different situations and with different groups; besides being the natural language of deaf people. To do this, it implements plans and actions aimed at training, both basic and higher, research, study, dynamization and awareness.
As the Institute intends to be one of the fundamental engines in the development of Sign Language in our Country, the training offer must be wide and in various formats, ranging from initial to university training, and making possible the successful development of different training itineraries. Likewise, it contemplates the accreditation of communication level, research, social evaluation and the publication of materials and technical resources.
On the other hand, the Institute has expanded its field of action to communicative mediation, as a consequence of social evolution and need. For this reason, it carries out specific training (Higher Level Training Cycle and its own courses), leads scientific research, publishes materials, prepares technical resources and designs intervention proposals with people with communication needs (deafblindness, ASD, neurocognitive disorders, …).
